Was ist ein Meningeom?
Meningeome sind häufige primäre Hirntumoren, die von den Hirnhäuten ausgehen. Ursprungszelle soll die sogenannte arachnoidale Deckzelle sein. Daher wachsen Meningeome in der Regel verdrängend und infiltrieren nur selten das Gehirn. Von großer klinischer Bedeutung ist die Einteilung nach Lokalisation.
