Was ist wechselstromwiderstand?

Wie im Gleichstromkreis bilden auch im Wechselstromkreis ohmsche Widerstände ein Hindernis für den Strom, also einen elektrischen Widerstand. Darüber hinaus verhalten sich im Wechselstromkreis auch Kondensatoren und Spulen wie elektrische Widerstände. Man bezeichnet sie mit dem Oberbegriff Wechselstromwiderstände.

Was ist ein gleichstromwiderstand?

Ein Spannungseinfluss auf den Widerstand des Glühfadens einer Glühlampe ergibt sich indirekt über den Temperatureinfluss. Zur Abgrenzung wird der frequenzunabhängige Anteil am Widerstand auch als Gleichstromwiderstand bezeichnet.

A rheostat is a variable resistor which is used to control the current flowing in a circuit. Several types of rheostats exist. The rotary type is the most commonly used in power control applications.

What is the difference between a preset resistor and a rheostat?

In these cases they are adjusted only during fabrication or circuit tuning ( preset resistor ). In such cases trimpots are often used, wired as a rheostat. But dedicated 2-terminal preset resistors also exist. A rheostat is a variable resistor which is used to control the current flowing in a circuit.

How does a rheostat affect the flow of electric current?

By placing the rheostat in the electrical circuit, we can control (increase or decrease) the flow of electric current in the circuit. Rheostat reduces the electric current flow to certain level. However, it does not completely blocks the electric current flow.

What is ohm’s law of static/DC resistance?

If the resistance is not constant, the previous equation cannot be called Ohm’s law, but it can still be used as a definition of static/DC resistance. Ohm’s law is an empirical relation which accurately describes the conductivity of the vast majority of electrically conductive materials over many orders of magnitude of current.
