Was macht Theophyllin?
What is theophylline used for?
Theophylline is a drug we use in treating respiratory diseases such as COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) and asthma. It is a methylxanthine drug that has the chemical name 1,3-dimethylxanthine since it has two methyl groups attached to a xanthine molecule.
What is the difference between aminophylline and theodrip?
We found no significant differences between Theodrip and aminophylline. However, when the comparative effects of Theodrip and aminophylline on peripheral blood eosinophil counts were examined, Theodrip, but not aminophylline, reduced blood eosinophil counts.
What is aminophylline used to treat?
Aminophylline is a drug we use to treat asthma or COPD but has low effectiveness than theophylline. The compound has bronchodilator theophylline and ethylenediamine in the ratio 2:1. Usually, we can find this compound in the dehydrated form, and ethylenediamine improves the solubility of this compound.
How much theophylline does it take to increase serum concentration?
If a mean volume of distribution of about 0.5 L/kg is assumed (actual range is 0.3 to 0.7 L/kg), each mg/kg (ideal body weight) of theophylline administered as a loading dose over 30 minutes results in an average 2 mcg/mL increase in serum theophylline concentration.
