Welche Funktion hat die Pleura? Das Brustfell umhüllt die beiden Lungen und ermöglicht die Atmung. Durch den dünnen Flüssigkeitsfilm in der Pleurahöhle kann die Lunge mit dem Lungenfell bei Atembewegungen am Rippenfell (der inneren Auskleidung des Brustkorbs) entlang gleiten.

Warum wird die Pleura parietalis auch als Pleura costalis bezeichnet?

Als Lungenfell (lateinisch Pleura visceralis oder Pleura pulmonalis) bzw. inneres Blatt überzieht die (viszerale) Pleura die Lungen. Als Brustfell im engeren Sinne (lateinisch Pleura parietalis) bzw. Das Rippenfell (Pars costalis) ist der Anteil, der die Innenseiten der Rippen überzieht.
