Was gegen ADHD?
Zur Behandlung von ADHS sind in Deutschland fünf Wirkstoffe zugelassen:
- Methylphenidat (Handelsnamen beispielsweise Medikinet, Concerta, Ritalin und entsprechende Generika )
- Atomoxetin (Handelsname Strattera)
- Dexamphetamin (Handelsname Attentin)
- Lisdexamfetamin (Handelsname Elvanse)
- Guanfacin (Intuniv)

Do people with ADHD have high IQs?
ADHD is distributed across individuals of all intellectual levels, and some of those individuals have high IQs. There is significant overlap of characteristics among people with ADHD, high IQ, and creativity — like curiosity, impatience, high energy, low tolerance for boredom, charisma, nonconformity, risk-taking, and resistance to authority.
What medications are used to treat ADHD?
Stimulants, such as Ritalin and Adderall, are the most common medications used to treat ADHD, and are quite effective. A stimulant is helpful in some cases because it’s believed that increasing levels of chemicals in the brain helps to increase focus. These drugs may reduce hyperactivity, too.
Does high IQ affect cognitive function?
According to a 2010 study published in Psychological Medicine, adults who had both high IQs and ADHD were found to have overall less cognitive function compared to other participants who had high IQ but not ADHD. A range of verbal, memory, and problem-solving tests were used in the study.
